A new, big female collaboration is on its way! As Anne-Marie has announced via social media on Monday, July 13, fans can expect a new song featuring the American rapper Doja Cat. The song is called “To Be Young” and will be released this Friday, July 17.
“TO BE YOUNG ft @DojaCat COMING FRIDAY. Pre order/pre save here”, the singer announced on Twitter, including a hearteye-emoji at the end of the tweet. If you want to pre-order or pre-save the track, click here. To tease her excited fans even more, she posted a sneak peek of the song on her Tiktok account. The cover art for the new song features colourful, animated sketches of the two artists, as well as two hands making a pinky promise.

It seems like the Essex-born musician has been teasing the collaboration for a while now, looking at her recent tweets. In a series of tweets from July 10 to July 12, she has shared three clips, each of them only lasting three to four seconds. Every video includes a different sentence, the first one saying “we’re all a mess”, followed by another one reading “but I guess..”, and ending with a clip containing the words “this is what it feels like…”
Taking a look at the sneak peek which the “Birthday”-singer has shared on Tiktok, it shows that the new song includes the lyrics “we’re all a mess, but I guess this is what it feels like to be young.”
Both of the singers have had their shot at success, with Anne-Marie (who released hits such as “Alarm”) reaching the UK Top 10 with four of her songs and Doja Cat peaking at Number 2 with her hit “Say So” back in May. Who knows, maybe this time there’s a Number 1 position waiting for the duo?
