British rapper Ambush Buzzworl has finally shared his sophomore album ‘Ask My Brother’, eight years after debut ‘About My Business’. Released today, 5th June, the album contains fifteen tracks and features from many other artists.
Prior to the release, Buzzworl put out three promotional singles: ‘Eastenders’, ‘Winnners’ featuring C. Biz and H Moneda, and ‘A.M.B (InTRILL)’. Each was released in the weeks leading up to the album, and has gained a music video as well as thousands of views and streams. The former, ‘Eastenders’, reached 400,000 views with its creative narrative as the rapper names every member of his social circle and where they have ended up since he last saw them.
Overall, the album is a commentary on the life of black men (and women) living in London, using Buzzworl’s own experience to write his songs. This comes at an incredibly important time, especially for the UK and the USA, following the killing of George Floyd by a police officer.
Having participated in Black Out Tuesday on 2nd June, the Camden artist wrote a powerful and saddening message to followers just before his album was officially made available to fans. In 2017, Ambush Buzzworl’s own cousin Nuno Cardoso died in police custody, so Buzzworl expressed his shock, writing “it’s mad cos when he died I was convinced the officers were gonna get convicted. I rah thought his death had to mean something like they have to change the Pattern cos of Neenz that’s gonna be His Legacy because otherwise why would God let such a Thing happen.”
He even commented on the timing of his album, saying “I don’t know what’s happening but a lot more people are listening. It’s Mad how it’s on the same night that my Tapes dropping I come in to This.”

Despite not creating new music for a number of years, Buzzworl’s remix of ‘Jumpy’ featuring Skepta and Chip peaked at 81 on the UK Singles Chart, fielding attention from listeners and millions of streams. The song has a similar theme to ‘Ask My Brother’.
Featured performers on the album include D Double E, Ra, Presi Pros, C. Biz, H Moneda, and Giggs, who appears on two tracks, ‘Silly Events’ and ‘Mass On Sunday’.
