Canadian pop act Allie X has announced her very first headlining tour in London. Taking place at Heaven on June 4, the show is in support of her upcoming studio album Cape God. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketweb.
Alexandra Ashley Hughes, who goes by the stage name Allie X, is a pop artist from Canada. She gained more recognition from the single “Catch” from CollXtion I, her first major EP released back in 2015. After gaining more popularity as a pop indie singer with eccentric aesthetics with the likes of Lady Gaga, Allie X co-wrote several songs with other artists, such as Troye Sivan’s “YOUTH” and “The Good Side“.
CollXtion II is Hughes’ debut album released in 2017, with “Paper Love” and “Casanova” as singles off the record. Also, she dropped an eight-track EP Super Sunset one year after, which includes electropop tracks like “Focus” and “Not So Bad in LA“.
On February 21, 2020, the 34-year-old singer will drop a new full-length record titled Cape God. The singer already shared the cover and 12-song tracklist of the album. Australian pop star Troye Sivan and Japanese-American indie rock singer Mitski also appear as guests on the album. Four tracks off the album were already shared, one of which is the Sivan-assisted song “Love Me Wrong”.
The Canadian singer explained the concept of Cape God to Complete Music Update. She said, “If I had to make a mission statement for this record I would say: Cape God is a liminal space I created to explore my repressed feelings and perhaps create a different outcome.”
In support of the forthcoming album, Allie X will go on the road with The Cape God Tour next year. In addition to tour dates in the US, the electropop singer also takes her tour to the UK and Europe. Among the dates is one show in London at Heaven on June 4. This show will be Allie X’s first ever headlining gig in the UK after several appearances as an opening act for MARINA’s Love + Fear Tour this year.
Tickets for The Cape God Tour are available now on Ticketweb, and the album is up for pre-order and will be released on February 21.
