English singer-songwriter Alexandra Burke has released a statement over Twitter announcing the cancellation of her UK tour, citing scheduling issues as the main reason.
The former X-Factor contestant and winner had just finished a stint on the West End as Svetlana Sergievsky in the musical Chess, and decided to cancel the tour after taking “a few days away”. The ‘Truth Is’ tour was supposed to commence in September and run for 13 dates, all of which have now been cancelled.

She explained that although she loved performing “more than anything”, the tour just could not go ahead as the “timing wasn’t right”. She also emphasised that she would try to reschedule the tour as soon as possible, and told fans to watch out for “more news coming from [her] soon.”
Until then, fans will have to be satisfied with listening to her latest release, March’s “The Truth Is”, through headphones rather than in person. However, all tour ticket holders are entitled to a full refund, as explained on Burke’s website.
