Manchester rap artist Aitch has made a quick return with new ‘Polaris’ project, after his 2019 work ‘AitcH20′. Released today, 29th May, the EP is already a hit with fans and consists of 8 tracks including ‘Rain‘, a collaboration with AJ Tracey and Tay Keith.
The 20-year-old has taken incredible strides in his career, dominating charts with his unique lyrics and a sound which combines old-school hip-hop with new ideas and topics. As the artist put it when speaking to British Vogue, he takes on a “back to basics” mentality, discussing his life growing up and now, as well as his musical journey. “So many shows last year, man mash bare work, now they can’t afford me/Young and rich but the engine’s big, said they won’t insure me” are lyrics lifted from opening song ‘Safe to Say’.
In promotion of ‘Polaris’, Aitch put out three singles: ‘Rain’, ‘Raw‘, and ‘30‘. Lead single ‘Rain’ has shot to the top of fans’ playlists, reaching 32 million Spotify plays since its release on 5th March. AJ Tracey and Tay Keith are co-writers and co-performers on the track, while Keith was the producer. Other collaborators on the EP include producers Kenny Beats and longtime friend WhyJay. With 18 million views, the music video for this single takes place in LA, as rain falls from bright pink skies. Latest single, ’30’, only came out yesterday, 28th May, hours before the EP. Along with the song, its music video was shared, already gaining 300,000 views.
In an Instagram announcement post, Aitch put the focus on his fans and co-workers, who have supported him and made his career what it is today. “My new EP Polaris out at Midnight. Big up the fans who keep man motivated and big up my team behind the scenes,” he wrote. Check out the full post below.

After this, the rapper gained the attention of artists including Stormzy and Ed Sheeran, who he went on to write and perform with. Since then, Aitch has put out three singles which reached the top 40 in the UK Singles Chart, including ‘Taste (Make It Shake)’ which found its way to number 2. ‘Polaris’ is his third collection of works.
