Ailbhe Reddy has announced she will be going on a UK and Ireland tour in 2021. The Irish singer took to Instagram to announce the news saying; “Verrry excited to announce this UK & IRE tour for next May!
2020 has been a tricky ol beast so I’m looking forward to getting back gigging!”
The tour will kick off on the 30th of April in Glasgow before Ailbhe heads to The Get Together Festival in Sheffield, then, Liverpool, Manchester, Ramsgate, London and Bristol before finishing off the show in The Button Factory in Dublin on the 15th of May 2021.
This tour will support Ailbhe’s debut album Personal History that came out on the 2nd of October. The ten-track album took three years to make and tells the story of Ailbhe’s mindset and life over these three years. It also explores relationships and all of their ups and downs. The album includes previously released singles Looking Happy, Between Your Teeth, Personal History and Time Difference. Ailbhe also released an acoustic version of her song Time Difference yesterday, the 25th of November.
Speaking to The Independent about how long it took to make her album, Ailbhe said; “I wanted to find my voice. I didn’t feel in a rush. It was a case of releasing music I was fully happy with and then giving this album the time it needed.”
Ailbhe is also a part of the Irish Women in Harmony, who recently released their Christmas single Together at Christmas in aid of the ISPCC. The song included 23 Irish female artists along with a tween choir of 12 young Irish female singers. Ailbhe joined the rest of the group to perform their song on The Late Late Show last Friday and to also talk openly about the gender disparity report that showed the lack of female representation in the Irish music charts.
