Adele’s hiatus from the music industry appears to be nearing an end. Last night as the X Factor was broadcast, during an advertisement break there was a brief 30 second snippet of a song that seems most likely to be a new single by Adele for her new upcoming album.
The 30 second music clip seems proof that there will be little change to Adele’s music style and genre. The use of a few simple piano chords, allowing her phenomenally emotive voice to take prominence. This was of course the formula that brought her incredible success previously so it is not overall too shocking to see her stick with the same style. Not being critical, there are few singers in the world who can evoke as much emotion and clarity when singing. Similarly, the manner of how the song was released is also a further testament to her musical style; a black screen with just the lyrics of the song appearing in time, cut back and minimal.
As said, the lyrics of the song seem to be sign that Adele will continue her songs about heartbreak and emotion:
“Hello, it’s me, I was wondering if after all these years, you’d like to meet to go over everything. They say that time’s supposed to heal ya but I ain’t done much healing.”

The timing of the release of the teaser has sent social media into meltdown; Adele’s third album has been heavily rumoured to come out next month and following this release, the rumours are only going to increase.
The last musical release we saw from Adele was two years ago in 2013 when she composed and performed the song ‘Skyfall’ for the latest James Bond film ‘Skyfall’. This followed the same level of success that we have come to expect from Adele; winning an Academy Award, Grammy Award and a Golden Globe Award all for ‘Skyfall’.
But even that can’t eclipse the success of her second album ’21’. Shortly after release in 2011, ’21’ became the UK’s best selling album of the 21st century as well as the fourth best selling album of all time. Not only that but she was also nominated for the Mercury Prize as well as winning a Grammy Award.
If her previous successes are anything to go on, as well as the response this 30 second teaser got from the world yesterday; when her third album comes out, it will be quite something to behold.
