Adele’s had a successful year of late. The 33-year old mother-of-one isn’t exactly the most prolific of artists, but when she strikes, it counts. Her latest album, 30, has been out for over six weeks, and even now it seems every other week another record is broken as sales continue to sky-rocket. It’s currently the fastest-selling album of 2021 with 261,000 UK sales, as well as being the first album to sell over 1 million copies in the US for over a year. After being nominated for four BRIT Awards and becoming worth £140 million, it begs a certain question; what to do with all the money?
Apparently, the answer is to buy a £43 million mansion in LA that’s owned by actor Sylvester Stallone. Adele’s in talks over getting the mansion, which is situated in notorious Beverly Park, where fellow celebs Denzel Washington and Eddie Murphy live. And she’s in luck, considering Stallone was originally asking for £80 million until it turned out that was just a little bit too steep for the world’s richest and most famous.
Stallone’s decision to sell comes after making his own recent property purchase, spending £26 million on a place in Palm Beach, Florida. Adele’s new home is reportedly rather roomy, sporting “six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a full guest house, art studio, gym, sauna and more“. According to The Sun, there’s also a variety of mementoes from Stallone’s long-lasting film career, such as a statue of the Rocky character and a model of Vietnam veteran Rambo, although it remains to be seen how Adele will redecorate when the place is hers.
Adele has been gradually building up her own property collection, amassing around £35 million worth of areas in London and LA already. Highlights include two adjacent homes in Kensington, where she knocked down the walls in order to make one big mansion out of the lot. The Kensington house is also reportedly where she keeps the Oscar she won for 2012’s Skyfall. Other areas she owns housing include other places in LA, East Sussex and Hove, more of which you can read about here.
Buying a house in America isn’t the only business the singer has there, what with Adele about to embark on a 12-week Las Vegas residency, playing two shows every weekend from January 21st to April 16th in Caesars Palace hotel’s Colosseum. She’s also got two sold-out gigs coming up in the UK’s BST Hyde Park next Summer. So, fans of Adele, don’t despair. Whether or not we have to wait for another half-decade until the next album, Adele seems resolved to spend the intervening time still making music, whether it’s recorded or out on stage face-to-face with her audience.
