British megastar Adele has spoken out about the highly anticipated fourth studio album. The single admitted the delay of the upcoming album through a comment on her Instagram, blaming the COVID-19 pandemic.
It has been five years now since Adele last blessed the world with her 2015 blockbuster record ‘25.‘ The singer has since left fans across the globe wanting more of her sad tunes.
Back in February, the singer was recorded at her friend’s wedding, announcing the release of her new album in this coming September: “Expect my album in September.” Unfortunately, it seems like the wait is going to be much longer.
Last night (June 28), the “Hello” hitmaker returned to her Instagram, posting two throwback pictures in commemoration of her Glastonbury appearance in 2016. In one of the posts, the 32-year-old was frankly asked by one account about her upcoming record: “Teaser? Albums coming out today???!!!! Tell me now!!!!”
It is not entirely shocking, as Adele responded to the comment that the new LP is not coming out anytime soon. “Of course it’s not. Corona ain’t over. I’m quarantining. Wear a mask and be patient,” she replied.
The news has again broken all fans around the world who are growing impatient for new music by the “Set Fire to the Rain” singer. However, Adele is not alone when it comes to halting the release of music due to the ongoing global health crisis. Alanis Morissette, The Chicks (formerly The Dixie Chicks), Glass Animals, and Alicia Keys are among the list of artists that have postponed their albums.
Now, it means the coming of Adele’s new album (allegedly called ‘30‘) is now pushed back indefinitely, but we can all agree that it is going to be worth the wait. Although little has we known about how the forthcoming project would be like, fans are expected her new music to be more upbeat and filled with break-up anthems inspired by her divorce from ex-husband Simon Konecki.
While waiting, we can only keep blasting sad bangers like “Chasing Pavements” and “Someone Like You” on speakers, and be patient like the queen has commanded us to. Let’s revisit the pop excellency below.
