Wildlife documentaries aren’t a topic most rappers are typically associated with – unless you count The Bloodhound Gang’s “The Bad Touch”, of course. However, after narrating clips of the UK wildlife documentary “Planet Earth” in a sketch on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show, Snoop Dogg has gained support on a Change.org petition to become a full time narrator for an entire series of what he calls “Plizzanet Earth”. The petition has even garnered support from Snoop Dogg himself, who tweeted a link to the site in a bid to encourage more fans to sign.
The petition, currently at over 45,000 signatures, was created following a clip of Snoop Dogg’s Plizzanet Earth quickly going viral, with fans confident that the rapper’s idiosyncratic vocabulary will prove to be a worthy replacement for David Attenborough’s infamous soothing commentary. Whether or not the BBC, who are the producers of Planet Earth, will consider such a drastic shift in the tone of the show remains to be seen.
