The one and only Noel Gallagher debuts a new single ‘Wandering Star’. The single is the first taste from his solo project’s upcoming EP ‘Blue Moon Rising’ set to be released next year.
After sharing a snippet of a new song on his social media, the 52-year-old rocker from Manchester finally dropped ‘Wandering Star’. The song has a heartwarming tone with a tinge of the Christmas vibe from the bells, which is perfect for such a freezing time in winter.
Gallagher, according to NME, reveals that ‘Wandering Star’ “was written in Abbey Road last November on the same day I wrote ‘Black Star Dancing'”. He is also excited to perform this song, as he adds, “It’s that good, it sounds like it took 5.4 people to come up with it. It’s already a live standard and we haven’t even played it yet.”

The full EP ‘Blue Moon Rising’ is set for release on March 6, 2020. It comes after the previous acclaimed EPs, ‘Black Star Dancing’ and ‘This Is the Place’. ‘Blue Moon Rising’ contains three new songs and remixes of the title track. Check out the tracklist below.
1. Blue Moon Rising
2. Wandering Star
3. Come On Outside
4. Blue Moon Rising (The Reflex Revision)
5. Blue Moon Rising (7” Mix)
Regarding the release of EPs, the frontman of High Flying Birds explained his decision not to do a proper album on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ back in August:
“Well, I’ve never done it before, and I thought it was a bit too soon to put another album out, as I only had one out last year. And people these days, they don’t listen to albums anymore. They want that track and that track and that track.”
