While the full lineup is yet to be announced, BST Hyde Park has already revealed two supporting acts for Carpenter: Clairo and Beabadoobee will be playing the Hyde Park stage next July as special guests for the “Espresso” singer. Carpenter also first performed in Hyde Park as a support act, opening for BLACKPINK in 2023.
Sabrina Carpenter first started her career as a Disney Channel actress, and in mid-2010s begun releasing music. Her first album, “Eyes Wide Open” was released in 2015 and was followed by “EVOLution” in 2016. Carpenter released some Christmas songs and songs for film soundtracks throughout the years; she wrote and performed songs for her Disney original movie “CLOUDS” and sung for the soundtrack of the Netflix film “Work it”. In 2018 and 2019, Carpenter released sister albums “Singular Act I” and “Singular Act II”. But Carpenter rose to fame after the release of her song “Skin” in 2021, which was followed by the album “Emails I can’t Send” and, more recently, chart-topping “Short n Sweet”.
“Emails I can’t Send” was released in 2022 and received critical acclaim and put Carpenter in the spotlight for a much wider public than her previous albums. It peaked at 41 on UK charts, charting for 32 weeks. The singles “Nonsense” and “Feathers” peaked respectively at 32 and 19; the albums were followed by a tour which eventually led Carpenter to open for Taylor Swift on some dates of the Eras Tour.
In 2024, Carpenter released “Short n Sweet” which became the artist’s first album to peak at number one in the UK and has charted in the top ten since its release. The three singles off the album, “Espresso”, “Please, Please, Please” and “Taste” have all peaked at number one in the UK and broke records: Carpenter was the first artist in 71 years to score 20 weeks in the same year as number one. Currently, “Short n Sweet” is charting as number three in the UK.
Before BST Hyde Park, Carpenter will be touring in the UK and Europe. Currently, her sold out tour will take her to Dublin, Birmingham, London, Glasgow and Manchester. In London, Carpenter will be playing the O2 Arena.
Other acts that have been announced so far for BST Hyde Park are Olivia Rodrigo, Noah Kahan, Jeff Lynne’s ELO, Hugh Jackman and Zach Bryan. Many more headliners are still to be revealed but next year’s BST edition has yet to disappoint.
General sale tickets will be available on general sale next Wednesday, December 13. You can access full prices and tickets on BST’s website.
