Thirteen Mile has announced that he will be releasing his second EP, ‘Midnight Glory’, on the 11th of January 2019. The producer and songwriter, Thirteen Mile has created a full length – five track covers album, ‘Midnight Glory’, of (What’s The Story) Morning Glory by Oasis. ‘Midnight Glory’, will be released by Big Help Music, a record label that specialises in the development of undiscovered UK artists.
Manchester-based elctro-dance producer and songwriter, Thirteen Mile’s follow-up EP, ‘Midnight Glory’ features vocalist Michael Stewart and is scheduled to be released in January 2019. The EP contains five covers of tracks from (What’s the Story) Morning Glory by Oasis including the tracks ‘Wonderwall‘, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, and ‘Some Might Say’. All five tracks can be listen here, on Spotify.
Speaking about the album, ‘Midnight Glory’, Thirteen Mile said: “Oasis were a massive influence on me in my youth and I’m a huge fan. I created Midnight Glory as a tribute to my one of my favourite albums.”
Continuing, he describes the albums sound as: “It’s what Oasis would sound like if they were into synths, not guitars. Imagine classic Oasis songs produced in the style of The Chemical Brothers…that’s the sound of Midnight Glory!”
Thirteen Mile’s first EP, ‘Don’t Stop Never Stop’, was released in April 2018 and was a collaboration with singer/song-writer Tristan Henry. The EP includes the tracks ‘Don’t Stop’ - (a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 hit), ‘Hurricane’, and ‘Are You Ready’. The EP featured in Hype Machine’s trending chart and received positive reviews from blogs such as The Revue and Angry Baby.
Speaking about how Thirteen Mile began, he said: “I started making music in 2010 when I created my own drum beats to use as backing tracks when learning to play the bass guitar. I learnt more about music production in the following years when I taught myself how to write, mix and produce using Ableton Live and Cubase.”
“My first influences are from the late 1990s listening to nu metal/rock (Linkin Park, Audioslave, Foo Fighters, RATM, Metallica). In the mid 2000s I was influenced by electronic/dance music (The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia), and for the last few years a dance/rock combination. Some of my favourite artists include: The XX, Arcade Fire, Chase & Status, Thirty Seconds to Mars, The Cure and The Whip,” says Thirteen Mile, speaking about who he is influenced by.
“When I created my first track I was looking for a vocalist to work with in the Greater Manchester area. On a music collaboration website, I used the search criteria: Manchester plus a thirteen-mile radius. I liked the sound of Thirteen Mile, so stuck with it,” he says, speaking about why he is called Thirteen Mile.
