Pinegrove are returning to the road as they announce a ten-date tour, will see the band play dates in the US and Europe before arriving in the UK on the 5th of December, were they will play two dates in Bristol and London. The band kick off their tour in Montclair, on the 23rd of November 2018 and will conclude, the ten-date, tour in Los Angeles, on the 14th of December 2018.
This announcement comes after the band recently returned to the spotlight, with their new album ‘Skylight’. The LP was self-funded and released through Bandcamp and was the bands first release since the release of ‘Cardinal’ in 2016. All profits from the sale of their latest album are going toward three charities including: The Voting Rights Project, The American Foundation For Suicide Prevention and Musicares.
In a message released via the Pinegrove newsletter and their Instagram, the band wrote about the tour: “The safety of our fans is a priority, and we wanna emphasise our commitment to making sure everyone is as comfortable as possible at our shows. With that in mind, we’ll be partnering with organisations and volunteers trained in active bystander intervention in each city. More details to come.” The band also said that a portion of the profits from the ticket sales would go to Planned Parenthood.
Frontman Evan Stephens Hall, last year, acknowledged that he had been accused of “sexual coercion” by someone he “was involved with for a short, but intense, period of time,” something which led to the group taking a year-long absence.
Hall has since revealed that he came to a private resolution with an alleged victim, through the use of a mediator in the later half of 2017. Speaking to Pitchfork, Hall said that the victim also asked the band to take a year off touring and for Hall to enter into therapy. “We wanted to honour that. She recognised that we’ve honoured it, and has since approved our plan to release an album and play some shows later on this year.”
