Punk duo The Dresden Dolls have announced their sensational return today, confirming that they are scheduled to play two Halloween dates in London, at the Troxy. The two gigs- which are listed below, will be Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione’s first European dates for no less than 12 years.
Tickets for the shows will go on sale on Monday May 21, and you can sign up for access to the pre-sale here.
The Dresden Dolls were formed in 2000, and have gained a prolific reputation through the years for their self-proclaimed “Brechtian punk cabaret” style. Their live shows are renowned for their live shows, often involving fire-breathers, stilt-walkers, and similarly themed performance artistry.
The pair took a hiatus back in 2008, following the release of their second LP Yes, Virginia, before reuniting in 2010, and beginning to tour again. The band have also released two books, in 2006’s The Dresden Dolls companion, and The Dresden Dolls: The Virginia Companion, which followed in 2008, before the band’s initial break.
