A Bran new album acoompanies the announcement of the tour, with Andersson’s latest project Plunge already garnering critical acclaim, with The Guardian describing the album as ‘unrelentingly engaging’. The build to the long-awaited release began in late October, with the release of lead single ‘To The Moon And Back’.
The album itself is Dreijer’s first under the Fever Ray name since 2009’s eponymous debut, but the singer also operates as part of acclaimed duo The Knife, who last released music in 2013, before disbanding after a subsequent tour a year later.
Rumblings of a new Fever Ray project began as far back as February 2016, when Dreijer told The Fader that she had begun work on new material. She remarked that she was “continuing [working] in other shapes” – as well as writing music for a touring Swedish play.
