The band released their latest album Gargoyle in April of this year, to much acclaim, with the Guardian even going as far as to describe the LP as a “career high” for the veteran singer, in what was his 10th solo album, which was regarded as “A bravura statement from an artist still sounding fresh three decades into his career”.
Outside of his solo work, Lanegan is most famous for his collaborations, although he first shot to fame as part of Screaming Trees, playing a huge part in the grunge scene which emerged out of Seattle in the early 1990s.
In the early 2000s, after disbanding Screaming Trees, Lanegan worked extensively with Queens of the Stone Age, lending his distinctive vocals to what many consider to be QOTSA’s finest albums, Rated R, and Songs For The Deaf.
