“DArkSide” will be the fifth song to be released from Bring Me The Horizon’s upcoming album POST HUMAN: NeX GEn, the release date of which is still unknown. The album was originally set to drop on September 15th, however, the band announced in a recent social media post that the date will be delayed due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
Frontman Oli Sykes told fans “So I got some bad news… nex gen won’t be coming September 15th. Unforeseen circumstances rendered us unable to complete the record to the standard we’d be happy with. I was hoping despite the setbacks we could pull it off in time for you guys but there’s still so many little details I want to be perfect and until it’s nailed I’m just not willing to give to you guys. We can’t give it a new date just yet but just know it’s close… & I know you guys have been so patient but you just gotta be a lil more..”

Though fans were disappointed by this news, Sykes spoke with NME to explain why the album has been taking so long. “We’re just always looking for ways to take a song to the next level. Even if it’s nostalgic, we want to do something Bring Me The Horizon hasn’t done before. As you get older, it becomes harder to think of a new storyline, but it’s important we do because if we’re going to release and song and play it live, it’s going to knock another one from the set that people want to hear. Every song needs to be justifiable, and they need to be fucking good. They’ve always got to bring something new to the table, which is why [making ‘NeX GEn] has been so slow.”
