St. Albans’ rock four piece Enter Shikari have unveiled that full details of their forthcoming new album The Spark, including a full tracklist, a brand new single, and a huge UK arena tour. The full dates can be seen below.
Following the release of ‘Live Outside’, the band have confirmed that their fifth album will be released on September 22, and the recording of the album saw the band collaborate with David Kosten, who has previously worked with indie darlings like Bat For Lashes and Everything Everything, both of whom have a noticeably softer sound than Enter Shikari’s typical body of work.
Speaking about the origins of the album’s title, singer Rou Reynolds told NME that “The spark is a new connection, a new beginning
“It can be short and insignificant, but it can create something so significant. The spark is that light at the end of the tunnel – when everything seems to be falling apart, but you’re able to see some sort of path out of the dark.”
The full tracklist of The Spark Reads:
1. ‘The Spark’
2. ‘The Sights’
3. ‘Live Outside’
4. ‘Take My Country Back’
5. ‘Airfield’
6. ‘Rabble Rouser’
7. ‘Shinrin-yoku’
8. ‘Undercover Agents’
9. ‘The Revolt Of The Atoms’
10. ‘An Ode To Lost Jigsaw Pieces’ (in two movements)
11. ‘The Embers’
In addition to working with a more indie-associated producer, Shikari also released the huge single ‘Supercharge’ with grime artist Big Narstie back in May, and Reynolds said of the unorthodox collaboration “In the world there’s just so much division, and music is the best route for that […] it’s the one thing that brings people together indiscriminately.”
Enter Shikari will then kick off their arena tour on November 16, and will conclude the eight date tour at London’s famous Alexandra Palace on November 25.
