US pop-punk legends Blink-182 have announced that they are cancelling a selection of shows in the UK and Ireland due to “an urgent family matter”.
According to Blink-182’s X/Twitter page, the band will be postponing all upcoming September tour dates and will be rescheduled as drummer Travis Barker has been forced to travel back home.
“Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States,” the post read. “The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed. More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available.”

Within the UK and Ireland, this means that shows at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro (September 2), Belfast’s SSE Arena (September 4) and Dublin’s 3Arena (September 5) will be postponed until further notice.
Furthermore, in Europe, shows in Antwerp (September 8), Cologne (September 9), Copenhagen (September 12), Stockholm (September 13), Olso (September 14), Berlin (September 16), Hamburg (September 17) and Prague (September 19) have also been postponed until further notice.
Remaining UK dates in October, including 2 nights at London’s 02 Arena as well as shows in Birmingham and Manchester are scheduled to take place as planned. It is unclear when further information regarding the postponed shows will be available but due to the lack of information regarding potential refunds for ticket holders, it can be assumed that information regarding show re-scheduling and refunds will be made available soon.
Fans will no doubt be disappointed as these shows were the first opportunity to see the band with original guitarist and vocalist Tom DeLonge in the lineup since rejoining the band last year.
Unfortunately, this isn’t first time Blink-182 have had to reschedule shows recently. Earlier this year, they were forced to postpone a tour of Mexico and South America due to drummer Travis Barker suffering from repeated injuries to his finger before finally returning at Coachella.
The decision must have been incredibly short notice as the band were already in the UK, as showcased by Tom DeLonge’s Instagram post of the Glasgow skyline.
The band is currently readying the release of a forthcoming album which Tom DeLonge has said is “only weeks away”, which DeLonge promises to be the “most progressive” Blink-182 have ever released.
