Last night, (July 10th) saw American rock n rollers perform a huge show at the Acropolis in Athens. The show was filmed for the upcoming TV series ‘Landmarks Live In Concert’ presented by Red Hot Chilli Peppers drummer Chad Smith.

During the concert, Foo Fighters debuted their newest track ‘Arrows’, taken from forthcoming album Concrete And Gold. ‘Arrows’ is the fifth song to be released from the upcoming record after ‘La Dee Da’, ‘Sunday Rain’ ‘The Sky Is A Neighbourhood’ and ‘Dirty Water’, which were all also played during the Acropolis gig.

Speaking about the impending release of the new album, frontman Dave Grohl spoke to BBC Radio 6 with Shaun Keaveny about how the different meanings and ideas running throughout the record, saying that with Concrete And Gold, he said “It’s also the title of the last song. There’s sort of a theme within the eleven songs that goes from beginning to end, so this is kind of the resolve of the entire record. The chorus [of the song ‘Concrete And Gold] says, ‘I have an engine made of gold, something so beautiful. The world will never know. Our roots are stronger than you know. Up through the concret, we will grow.’ It’s kind of beautiful.”

The interview also revealed that 1990s boy band Boyz II Men actually sing backing vocals on the record, after Grohl came across one of the band members in a car park, where he was working.

Meanwhile, Foo Fighters were recently rocking out in sunny Englands Worthy Farm, headling Glastonbury Festival on Saturday night. The band drew one of the biggest crowds towards the legendary Pyramid Stage and paid an emotional tribute to a mega fan, Laura Plane, after she sadly passed away during the month previous, dedicating their hit ‘Everlong’ to “Laura… Who couldn’t be here tonight.”
