Liam Gallagher kicked off his evening set on Glastonbury’s The Other Stage by performing old Oasis classics.
The Britpop band frontman turned solo took to the festival’s second biggest stage at 5:45 this evening, and told the massive crowd “I am he, you are he, you are me, and we are all together. Rock ‘n’ roll star.”
Gallagher and his band then dove straight into Oasis’ hit ‘Rock n Roll Star’, the song that he has used for most of his opening sets this year, followed by ‘What’s The Story? (Morning Glory)’ much to the scores of excited fans delight.
Gallagher continued with his own debut single ‘Wall Of Glass’, and dedicated the rest of his set to his solo material with the guest appearances of Oasis’ ‘Slide Away’ and ‘Be Here Now’.
However, Liam Gallagher chose to end his stunning hour-long performance with a tribute to the victims of the Manchester and London attacks that took place in the last month and the recent tragedy of the Grenfell Tower fire. Being from the great city of Manchester himself, the Mancunian sang an acapella version of ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ encouraging the crowd to sing along with him, and sing loud.
