Atlanta metal behemoths Mastodon have announced today that they will be hitting UK shored towards the end of 2017, for several dates, in support of their seventh studio album Emperor of Sand, which sported an album cover far better than the music within, considering the band’s own monstrously high standards.
Now, off the back of a raucous set at Download Festival last weekend, the prog-metallers have announced that they will be heading back to the UK for a seven date stint, starting in Cardiff on December 2, before finishing up at London’s Brixton Academy on December 12, you can see the full list of dates below.
The band have already hit the road after the release of Emperor of Sand, and after touring North America in April and May, Mastodon will be bringing support acts Russian Circles, and Eagles of Death Metal along with them for the brand new tour as well.
The tour was notable for Mastodon frontman Brent Hinds joining the Eagles of Death Metal Onstage during their opening song, and performing a rendition of their hit ‘I Only Want You.’ Hinds also proposed to his girlfriend onstage during the tour, as well as dancing with his grandmother onstage.
