LCD frontman James Murphy has gleefully informed fans that their new album is ‘finally done’- whilst onstage at a festival. The band were performing at Washington’s Sasquatch! Festival, when the singer and band leader made the confirmation, to the joy of many of those watching.
LCD Soundsystem were headlining Sasquatch! due to one of Frank Ocean’s ever-growing festival cancellations. After the set, fans took to Twitter to thank the band for a fantastic set, and for the good news.
Also the new LCD soundsystem is the best kind of new reminder of why you love something.

The band has stirred back into life in the last 18 months or so, after a prolonged absence from music, and the new fourth, as-yet-unnamed album will be the band’s first since 2010’s This is Happening. Part of the band’s set last night including new songs ‘Call The Police’ and ‘American Dream.’
Murphy has previously updated fans on the album’s progress as recently as January, claiming that the process of making the project had been “dragged out”, claiming “winter messes with my voice.”
Upon the debut of ‘Call The Police’ and ‘American Dream’ Murphy wrote that “As eager as folks have been for me to get this done, it’s got nothing on how much I want to be finished myself […] It’s been one of the most enjoyable records to make in my life, if not the most fun ever (I think it is, for sure, the happiest I’ve ever been making a record).”
