Iconic German dance outfit Kraftwerk have announced that they are to release a new live album, accompanied by 3D film collection.
Over recent years, the iconic act have performed a number of their classic albums in full, with a simultaneous 3D shows projected with them, which are described as “multi-media presentations.”
So impressive are these shows, that footage taken from Kraftwerk’s performances have been exhibited in contemporary art museums the world over. Now, the band have confirmed that they will release some of these performances as part of a new live album, titled 3D The Catalogue.
The release will feature full footage of the group performing classic albums like Tour De France, Autobahn, and Technopop, as well as a full anthology of five other of Kraftwekr’s finest albums (Radioactivity, Trans Europe Express, The Man-Machine, Computer World, and The Mix). The collection will also be released in Blu-ray, with a 228 page booklet accompanying it, for the band’s most die-hard fans. There will also be a shortened release, containing the highlights cut from the eight concerts, which will all be released on May 26.
The release of this anthology is in tandem with Kraftwerk’s return to British and Irish shores, as they prepare for a 17 date tour, beginning in Dublin on 2 June, before concluding with three nights at London’s legendary Albert Hall, from June 21-23. You can see the full lists of dates below.
