Post-punk legend Siouxsie has finally emerged from under the rocks after a decade-long break from performing. She has come back with an added 3 live gigs in Europe and is ready to kick off this coming 3rd of May in Brussels.
The five shows will take place in scattered areas around the world. The lucky chosen cities include Brussels followed by Amsterdam, Milan, California and Suffolk, UK. Two of which she will be headlining festivals Latitude and Cruel World. However, it is not yet established whether these are the final and only dates she will be offering her fans. It is suspected se could be making a couple more stops before making her way back to the UK for her, current, final show.
She will be performing a headline show at Cruel World Festival on the Saturday, 20th of May alongside artists Iggy Pop, Billy Idol, Love and Rockets, The Human League, etc. It is a recently established festival based in the Brookside at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Founded in 2020 and dedicated to showcasing bands belonging to the new wave, post-punk, gothic rock and alternative rock scenes. Perfectly fit to be lead by such an iconic figure in said music scene. Her other headline show is at Latitude Festival on the Sunday, 23rd of July based in east England in Henham Park, Suffolk, playing alongside George Ezra, Paolo Nutini, Pulp, and many more. A festival varying more between genres including jazz, R&B, indie-rock and pop.
Siouxsie’s last performance sits back in 2013 when she was invited to sing at Yoko Ono’s Meltdown Festival, held in the Royal Festival Hall in London. The crowd were blessed with a hell of a show featuring a selection of her best 80’s and 90’s hits. She and her band, much to everyone’s welcomed surprise, played almost the whole Banshees album Kaleidoscope from the 80’s. Little did they know that that would be the last taste they’d be getting of her bewitching presence before her re-emergence now 10 years later.
Ever since her first ever appearance singing live at the 100 Club Punk Festival in 1979 she has become a spine-chilling music icon, a powerful female leader, a music culture innovator and the creator of over eleven studio albums with the Banshees. The rock queen hasn’t failed to put on a good show throughout her active years and, if anything, a trooper like her won’t come back quietly. Even at 65 years of age. Her coming shows are guaranteed to be a mysterious, entrancing and historic experience, in hopes of hearing all her and her bands best hits. Tickets for Latitude and Cruel World are currently available to buy online, however, the Brussels, Amsterdam and Milan shows are still to be released.
