UK grime kingpin Stormzy took to Twitter today, speaking out against London’s Metropolitan Police, after they broke down his front door early this morning, believing him to be a burglar. Stormzy described how he was awoken by the sounds of the force ‘destroying’ the front door of his Chelsea residence.
Woke up to Feds destroying my front door coz apparently I'm a burglar who burgles his own home. @metpoliceuk need your bank details still pic.twitter.com/fGH1fsePHv

In a statement to NME, the Metropolitan Police issued a statement, detailing their side of the story. “Police were called to an address in West Brompton at 00:55hrs on Tuesday, 14 February to a report of a conspiracy to burgle a ground floor flat believed to have been vacant.
£Officers attended and forced entry to the property, and found there to be two lawful occupants inside. Officers remained at the property until it was made secure.” The police sheepishly finished the statement by declaring that “Officers have since been in further communication with the complainant.”
Stormzy is currently gearing up for the release of his debut album Gang Signs and Prayer, due for release on February 24. In tandem with this, Stormy will then hit the road, on a 16 date UK tour, culminating with two huge nights at London’s famous Brixton Academy. “This is the moment that I have been waiting for my whole life,” said Stormzy. “I am now ready to certify my position as a credible artist and someone who is here for the long run.” You can see the full list of dates below, and tickets are on sale now.
