Robbie Williams has released a new single titled “Lost” that features on his 25th-anniversary album ‘XXV’. The new song, which is produced by Guy Chambers and Richard Flack and is a poignant ode to destructive tendencies and reckless impulsiveness as quoted from NME Williams stated that“‘Lost’ is about the times in my life when I’ve abandoned myself to reckless behaviour,”.
‘XXV’ celebrates 25 years of Williams career as a solo artist, featuring several Number One singles and fan favourites all freshly orchestrated by Jules Buckley, Guy Chambers and Steve Sidwell and re-recorded with the Metropole Orkest in The Netherlands. The album by the former Take That band member will be available on CD (standard and deluxe), vinyl and cassette formats. Both the standard and deluxe versions will feature the recently released single, while the deluxe album includes three more original tracks: “Disco Symphony”, “More Than This” and “The World And Her Mother”. The record is already available to pre-order here ahead of its release on September 9 via Columbia Records and you can hear the new single below.
This latest album marks another milestone in his career, having found fame as a member of the pop group Take That from 1990 to 1995 before moving on to pursue a solo career. After 25 years Robbie has six albums to his name from the Top 100 best-selling records in the UK. In addition, he has sold more than 80 million albums worldwide, has 14 UK number one hits and won the record number of 14 BRIT Awards. Williams also rejoined Take That back in 2010 to co-write and perform lead vocals on their album Progress, which became the second-fastest-selling album in UK chart history.
The singer has previously released other tracks set to feature on the record so far including reworked versions of “Angels”, “Eternity” and “The Road To Mandalay”. The news comes shortly after confirmation that Williams will perform a headline show as part of Radio 2 Live in Leeds next month. It takes place across September 17 and September 18 at the city’s Temple Newsam Park. He will be seen performing among the likes of George Ezra, Kaiser Chiefs and Nile Rodgers & Chic just to name a few. Williams made his UK live return with a homecoming show at Vale Park in Stoke-on-Trent last month.
