Last month saw girl group Little Mix officially confirm their hiatus, since the break many members have been working on their new solo careers. Bandmember Leigh-Anne Pinnock is the latest from the group to break out on her own, the 30-year-old singer has revealed that she has been working with singer-songwriter RAYE in the studio. Pinnock announced their partnership via her social media channels after she re-shared a picture of the duo working in the studio during an Instagram story, RAYE also took to social media to confirm the singer’s partnership.

Otherwise known as Rachel Agatha Keen, the English artist first rose to fame for her work with megastar Beyonce. The pair co-wrote the single “Bigger” which featured on the soundtrack album The Lion King: The Gift, the track was released in 2019 and later again 2020 when it was featured in the film Black Is King. During the same year, RAYE released her own debut album entitled Euphoric Sad Songs. The album sired five singles including “Secrets”, released in 2020 the track reached number 6 within the UK singles charts.
Earlier this year Pinnock was a victim of a leak, consequently her debut solo single “I Need You” was shared online against her will. The track was swiftly taken down by Warner Music and all recordings and links of the singer’s first solo material was removed. In replace of the clip a message from the owner was shown, serving as a notice of copyright claim it stated “This media has been disabled in response to a report by the copyright owner.”
A source from The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column has revealed further information concerning Pinnock’s solo career, “This track is an extremely early demo. Bosses acted quickly and are determined to get to the bottom of how it appeared online because only a handful of people had heard it. They are taking it extremely seriously. Leigh-Anne is working hard to give fans the music they deserve.”
The column also reported that the singer has been working with Tayla Parx, the pair last teamed up for the hit “Sweet Melody” which Parx co-wrote for the group. It has also been revealed that the former Little Mix member is set on a new stage name, the singer has plans to remove her last name. It has also been reported that Pinnock has purchased a new domain, the singer is said to have bought Leigh-Anne.com which remains under construction.
Pinnock has also expressed an interest in the literary world, earlier this spring it was reported that the singer had been holding negotiations with publishers to obtain the rights to her memoir. The singer also previously confirmed that she has multiple projects including a book inspired by her documentary Race, Pop and Power. Broadcasted via BBC Three, the film followed the singer discussing her time in Little Mix and showed the singer’s personal journey to understand how her platform can be used to combat racism.
