The indie-pop London quintet known as Gently Tender have announced the release of their debut album titled; Take hold Of Your Promise! which is paired with a new single, “Love All The Population”. In a mish-mash of members from such bands as Palma Violets and Celia Archer of Big Moon, the band has solidified a new identity as some of the UK’s most exciting ballad groups specialising in rousing ballads and sombre lyricism.
The new album will be released via So Young Records on the 26th of August 2022 and is expected to build on the swelling reputation the band has gathered in their short lifespan. A full tracklist of the new LP can be found down below;

As well as this exciting announcement, the band have dropped a video for “Love All The Population” which was filmed by Oscar Carrier-Sippy in the Neolithic Valley of Stones at Avebury in Wiltshire. The song combines a stirring tune with a momentous sense of remorse and anxiety. Sam Fryer’s vocals occupy a baritone drawl that builds to a primal crescendo of whoops and hollers. Check out the video down below:
Describing the inspiration behind the song, Fryer elaborated; “This song was written in the first lockdown – like lots of people I had spent many hours reflecting on the togetherness of our existence pre-pandemic. I was thinking a lot about the now-empty spaces – empty music venues particularly – not only closing because of the pandemic! So this song was a bit of a lament to those.”
