Vancouver-born electronic duo Bob Moses have released a new single entitled “Never Ending”, taken from their forthcoming album The Silence in Between, which will be released via Domino Recording Copmany/Astralwerks on the 4th of March. The song is drenched in atmosphere, commencing with a roomy, smoky vocal line that crowns a hazy, oscillating synth line, before a subdued house beat joins the mix alongside thick synth stabs. The band said of the song, according to a press release: “We have all had moments we wanted to stay in forever…This song indulges the impulse and revels in that possibility.”
The accompanying video was directed by Cam Veitch and produced by Black Lake, and evokes through its feverish visuals a surreal, almost Lynchian drama or thriller, with bright lights and grainy, repeated shots that almost feel like dream sequences, complimenting the ethereal sound of “Never Ending” perfectly.
This is the third single from the Canadian duo’s upcoming album and follows hot on the heels of their last single “Love Brand New”, which was released last month. The song made the Top 15 on the Alternative radio chart and earned acclaim from the likes of Billboard (who stated that “the Nine-Inch Nails influenced single is a dark, brooding slow build that pulsates with moody lust, growls power riffs and shows off a heavier sound for the duo”). One of many exciting collaborations featured on The Silence in Between, “Love Brand New” was co-written with Michel Zitron and John Martin, who have previously worked with the likes of Avicii and Swedish House Mafia. The band released their first single from the record in November, entitled “Time and Time Again”.
Soon after the arrival of The Silence in Between, Bob Moses will embark on a headlining tour of North America. Kicking off on March 20 in Tucson, Arizona, the 25-date run will continue through May 21 in Vancouver, with stops at well-known venues as The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and The Warfield in San Francisco. Later this year, Bob Moses will head to Europe and the UK for two shows: one at Melkweg in Amsterdam, and one at KOKO in London.
