Snail Mail (aka Lindsey Jordan) has announced the dates for her rescheduled UK and European tours. The tour will commence on June 6th, 2022 in Cologne, Germany and end on July 5th in Lyon, France. Jordan will also be embarking on a North American tour in April of next year.

Unlike many bands who have been forced to postpone and reschedule tours and shows due to COVID-19 related issues, Jordan had to cancel her shows due to a need to undergo vocal cord surgery. Jordan said in an interview with NME in November: “I went to see an ENT last week and they found massive polyps in my vocal cords (surprisingly from vocal trauma due to talking!! shocker lol) that need to be operated on to prevent permanent damage to my voice. The recovery time is three months/speech therapy and in an effort to make sure the rest of the tour can happen, I will be postponing our first US tour which was supposed to begin this week as well as our initial UK/Euro tour.”
Earlier this year, Snail Mail released her second full-length studio album Valentine which comes three years after her 2018 debut Lush. The album has been widely celebrated by fans and critics. A glowing review by Pitchfork said of the record: “Lindsey Jordan’s exquisite second album documents love in all stages, but mostly in disrepair. She takes on a larger and poppier sound while keeping her songwriting dazzlingly sharp and passionate.”
The album, which was released through Matador Records, is available on all streaming services, and physical media can be purchased here.
Snail Mail has very quickly moved up the ranks of indie rock and pop since the project’s inception in 2015. Jordan’s first E.P. entitled Sticki was self-recorded, and very soon after its release, she began playing shows with a full band. In 2016, the project’s second E.P. Habit was released on Polygon Records. This marked a turning point for Jordan in regard to the project’s popularity, with the song “Thinning” being featured on Pitchfork’s series Best New Tracks and resulted in Snail Mail signing with music booking agency Ground Control Touring. The following year, Jordan would sign with Matador Records, who released her debut album.
