The Live at Chelsea website has given the following statement concerning the announcement, “The one thing to expect from Paul Weller nowadays is the unexpected. Last year’s stripped-back True Meanings could’ve been read as a permanent folk-mod future, but in 2020 he returns from a completely different sonic direction with a kind of pastoral-psychedelic-soul sound that floats through On Sunset, a sound that’s as joyful as flinging open the windows on a clear blue-sky July morning.”
Tickets for the special outdoor concert will be available to purchase on the release date of Weller’s upcoming new album. The Jam bandmember will drop An Orchestrated Songbook on 10th December 2021, the album sees Weller work with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and legendary conductor Jules Buckley. The album boasts a tracklist of 17 songs which includes reimagined versions of classics from Weller’s back catalogue, including hits from his time in bands The Jam and Style Council. The singer took to Twitter to announce the album’s release to fans.
