Their news single ‘Bang Bang’ will be released on August 11 ahead of a long-awaited new album. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong announced ‘Bang Bang’ via Twitter, saying:

“Dear friends! Green Day is putting out a new single called ‘BANG BANG’ August 11. Stay tuned for more details.”

Formed in 1986, Green Day’s new album will be their first in four years; twenty six years since their debut album 39/Smooth in 1990. Green Day have built up an extensive discography.

Since this debut album Green Day have rocked up a further seven albums before their trilogy Uno!, Dos!, Tré! In 2012.

Green Day’s third album Dookie (1994) featured the single ‘Basket Case’ which propelled the band to great heights with such an amazing track. Then a decade later the 2004 album American Idiot continued their huge momentum with their famous single ‘American Idiot’. Green Day have proved they can own fans of different generations spanning several decades since their humble beginnings in 1986.
