Julie Adenuga announces season 5 of her online debate show, Julie’s Top 5. The show sees Julie and a number of her celebrity friends, which in the previous series have included the likes of Chunkz, Harry Pinero, Ray Blk, Kojey Radical and many more artists and personalities from the UK scene.
The episodes normally include Julie and 2 guests debating the top 5 songs of any chosen artist or project. The previous artists that have been debated include J Hus, Kano, Destiny Childs, Frank Ocean and Amy Winehouse.
The guests appearing on season 5 of Julie’s top 5 have already been announced by Adenuga who shared the news alongside the trailer for the show’s new season. The guests on this series will be actor Weruche Opia who recently starred alongside Michaela Coel in the Emmy award-winning series I May Destroy You, Dj Goldie Quaker, online personalities Mimi the music blogger, Zeze Mills, Paul Bridges and Tolly T, as well as musician Charlie Mase and Grammy-nominated Tiana Major9.
Julie Adenuga is an important voice in the UK music scene, aside from her coming from one of the most influential families in UK music with her brothers being grime legends Skepta and Jme, she is a self-made personality and radio presenter. Julie was one of the original DJs at Beats 1 on Apple music when it first started broadcasting in 2015, but stepped down from her role in 2020 after 5 years at beats 1, writing in an Instagram post that “After an incredible five years, I’ve decided it’s time to move on,”.
The north Londoner has moved on from her role at Beats 1 becoming the co-host of Catfish UK on MTV alongside the author, journalist and filmmaker Oobah Butler.
Adenuga’s famous family doesn’t stop at her brother, her mother Ify Adenuga is a published author who released her book “Endless fortune” which was released in July 2021 and tells the story of Ify’s life from war-torn Nigeria in the 80s to Tottenham where she raised the children who would go on to have their hand in creating one of the most influential genres in UK music with Jme and Skepta involvement in grime.
Julie’s Top 5 is set to release its first episode this coming Sunday, October 10th and will be released on Julie’s youtube channel Don’t trust the internet.
