In what is set to be one of the biggest Spring festivals out there, the BBC have today confirmed a selection of huge household names set to headline and perform at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Exeter next month.
Just earlier today BBC Radio 1 took to Twitter to formally and officially announce the lineup for the festival:
Exeter, we hope you're ready! Ladies and gents, here is your #BigWeekend 2016 line-up https://t.co/yZvcLqLAI4 pic.twitter.com/bvKGeQox8O

Spanning just a short two days over the course of a weekend, BBC Radio 1 have managed to pull some huge names out of the bag for the festival. This will be Mumford & Son’s first time performing at the festival, and band member Marcus Mumford had this to say on their thoughts on appearing:
“I’ve never been to Radio 1’s Big Weekend so we’ve got a lot of catching up to do… I wanna make up for it with five years worth of riders. We’re really excited, thanks for inviting us, it’s going to be great.”
Traditionally BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend is a bit different to usual festivals, as tickets for the music show are actually free, however availability is limited as the only official way to get your hands on a ticket is through BBC Radio 1 giveaways.
