It’s been a while since we’ve heard any new material from London based indie band Bastille. The last piece of news that we got from the band was two months ago in February wherein lead singer Dan Smith had this to say, when discussing a potential second album:
“I’ve heard lots of bands talking about making their ‘difficult’ second album, but we never thought that far ahead. I guess, until recently, we haven’t had much time to think about it,” Dan Smith said in the video.
“We’ve been so lucky to be touring constantly over the past few years, and it’s been a lot of fun,” he continued. “But it’s meant that we’ve massively had to adapt the way that we make music. This new album has been written and recorded on tour buses, in backstage rooms and hotels all over the place. The process of writing and making the songs hasn’t changed much, it’s just that this time around, we’re doing way less of it in my bedroom.”
Bastille emerged onto the UK music scene in 2013 with the released of their debut (and so far only) studio album ‘Bad Blood’.
However, in recent gigs Bastille have been debuting some new material! Exciting times indeed.
Below you can see footage of ‘The Currents’ a song one can expect to find on Bastille’s new album:
We are still no closer to a second Bastille album; however if they’re at the stage of performing new songs at gigs and concerts then we can only hope that a new album is just around the corner! Listen to arguably Bastille’s most famous song ‘Flaws’ below:
