There’s been lots of cancellations and last-minute replacements recently in this year festivals and live shows. Most of them are due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. Reading and Leeds Festival that took place past weekend had to replace some of their acts that pulled out “due to restrictions and logistics“.
End of The Road Festival organisers shared news about the new line-up additions yesterday on social media: “We’re sorry to say that Scalping, Alice Boman, Zulu Zulu, Ahmed Fakroun and Gwenifer Raymond will no longer be able to join us this weekend. However, we are truly delighted to welcome Porridgeradio, H_HAWKLINE, Naima Bock and Licebristol in their stead!”. Adding that there have been changes in Literature and Comedy line-up as well.
Elsewhere, unfortunately Sam Lee and Tom Ward have also had to pull out. They will be replaced on the Literature and Comedy lineups respectively by the wonderful Matthew Clayton and Lulu Popplewell.

A few weeks ago Altin Gun, The Goon Sax and Tenesha The Wordsmith were replaced with Soccer96, Pozi, Charlie Cunningham, Teleman, NiNe8 and Blood Wizard. Nevertheless, the line-u looks amazing for this weekend and mxdwn can’t wait to cover it all. Some of the musicians to look forward to being Sleaford Mods, Damon Albarn, Little Simz, Stereolab and Arlo Parks.
The legend and former The Czars frontman John Grant who returned to perform at the festival, commented: “End Of The Road is one of the most beautiful festivals ever. The crowd is really just heavy-duty music fans, and the setting is so special. I’m a tree freak, you know? I really love to be in amongst the trees. I know that might sound extremely basic but it’s an amazing thing”.
The End of the Road Festival started at 11 am today, the 2nd of September. As per the organisers, all tickets holders age 11 and above will have to prove their Covid-19 Status to gain access to the show, either proof of full vaccination, negative Lateral Flow Test/PCR Test or proof of immunity. More info about what’s acceptable as proof can be found on the Festival website.
Our festival village is open! Come on in, grab a drink and have a good time… music starts at 17:45 with Blood Wizard on the Woods Stage.
