Death Metal group Aborted have announced the release of their new single “MainiaCult”, the group have also announced the release of their upcoming album with the same title.
The new single is the third release and title track from their upcoming album. The new song treats fans to a very special surprise, Joe Badolato from American death-core group Fit For An Autopsy has lent his vocal talents to the band’s new single. Badolato joined his current group in 2015 after the departure of former vocalist Greg Wilburn. The talented artist also owns a business located in New Jersey, Continental Barbershop. The single’s release is accompanied by a dynamic music video, the video begins with a front-page from a fictitious newspaper entitled The Maniacult Times, containing article titles such as A Cult Filled with Nothing But Sorrow . The video continues to rapidly display humorous and unusual article titles set alongside the single’s musical content of heavy vocals and expertly played intricate guitar lines
In the following press release, the band describes the new track within terms of supernatural lore and promises fans even more exciting news to come “Like lambs to the slaughter, Wayland takes you to your next trip after you spent the night in hell. Ghouls and Ghoulettes, we are very proud to present to you the title track of our new album Maniacult, errr… ‘MANIACULT’!!! This song features a very special guest, our good friend and one and only Joebad from Fit for an Autopsy making sure you shake dat ass during its heavier parts. ManiaCult is the Belgium formed group’s eleventh studio album and is set to be released on 10th September 2021 via Century Media Records. The label has carved out its place within the heavy metal music scene and specializes within many different sub-genres within the niche market. Founded in Germany in 1988 the label grew to three locations in the US, Germany and London and was obtained by major label Sony Music in 2015. The label has worked with some of the biggest names in modern heavy metal music such as God Forbid, Lacuna Coil and Shadows Fall.
The group have taken to their Instagram to announce the news of their new album whilst urging fans to join them in their heavy metal journey.
ManiaCult will be available to purchase in multiple formats and configurations, fans will be also able to purchase the album in the traditional CD and digital streaming formats. Other options available to fans include a CD Box which includes a bonus song, pop-up card and accessories such as a Metal pin and shaped patch and a Double Gatefold LP + CD option which includes various coloured posters.
The group’s new material has been designed to build Aborted their own cult, acting as a soundtrack to the group’s global takeover. Within the press release the band’s topical theme for their new release is confirmed and further intertwined with occult lore. “ABORTED have crafted the perfect soundtrack to this sick sect, which demands human sacrifices to summon Lovecraftian demons. The sinister sound aptly snarls and snakes like the heads that worm their way out from the cult leader’s back.”
The quintet has also recently launched a ManiaCult fan group, the Facebook group has been set up so that fans can keep up to date with Aborted news and any surprises which may follow. The heavy metal cult leaders will be hitting the road next year to build their following, the band will be performing across Europe with a few UK appearances, full dates are below.
