AJ Tracey announces ‘Summertime shootout’ featuring American hip hop legend T-Pain.
The track was teased by AJ at the end of July and is in partnership with McDonald’s as part of their rollout for their new burger the ‘Mcspicy’.
The track sees AJ take a different approach from the grime inspired music he released when he first came out and uses a sound he has been working on over the years which incorporates more melodies and autotune.
The sound which will hopefully mix well with T-Pains heavily autotuned style, the video was shot at what looks to be a mansion with McDonald’s food truck parked outside and a party scene going on at the home they have called ‘Tracey Manor’.
The video sees cameos from Tracey’s friends and collaborators including Unknown T, Headie One, SL and producer Nyge.
This will be the first music AJ gives his fans since his album release earlier this year, the project titled ‘Flu game’ was released independently by AJs Revenge records and peaked at number 2 on the official charts spending a total of 16 weeks on the charts.
AJ is no stranger to the charts having had a total of 7 top 10s and 16 top 40s, including his classic track ‘Ladbroke grove’ which sat in the charts for 59 weeks peaking at 3rd.
T-Pain has released 2 singles in 2021 and earlier this year shared a story on the Netflix show ‘This is Pop’ about an encounter with RnB superstar Usher which started a 4-year depression for the Florida artist.

T-Pains autotune sound changed the landscape of music in the early 2000s, birthing a generation of rappers such as Lil Uzi Vert, Travis Scott and Coi Leray who use autotune as such an important instrument in their music.
The track with AJ Tracey featuring T-Pain is set to drop tonight at 7 pm.
