The album upon first listen is not a brand new album but rather a continuation from ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ the style of music and lyrical content seems to follow the same trend as ‘To Pimp…’. But even so, new, previously unheard material from Kendrick Lamar is still great news, no matter what the background!
Since emerging onto the music scene in 2011 with his debut album ‘Section.80′, Kendrick Lamar has enjoyed widespread success from fans and critics alike. Kendrick Lamar has since been regarded as one of the most talented rappers out there, with MTV naming Kendrick as the ‘Hottest MC in the Game’ in early 2013. However it’s not just through work in rap and hip-hop wherein Kendrick has won awards and been critically acclaimed; his collaboration with Taylor Swift on her song ‘Bad Blood’ was phenomenally successful, winning a Grammy Award in 2015 for the best Music Video, as well as being nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
