Alternative rock band Trampolene has shared the new single and video for “Shoot The Lights“. The new track is their fifth from the upcoming third album “Love No Less Than A Queen” which is due on 20th August.
“For me it’s about when you’re scared and trapped indoors together with someone you love, for what feels like forever, it’s touch you need, life you want, and shoot the lights when you dare“, frontman Jack Jones commended on the single.
“Shoot The Lights” has a moody, dark vibe and the video, directed by Roger Sargent, perfectly indicates that. Sargent explained that the video concept is: “coming out of lockdown, with all the bright lights being tantalisingly close, both figuratively and literally and the toll it’s taken on everyone’s mental health“. He also directed Trampolene’s “Gotta Do More Gotta Be More“.
Trampolene announced the new album back in April, which was originally due to be released on 16th July. “Love No Less Than A Queen” will include all the previously released singles: “Oh Lover“, “Gotta Do More Gotta Be More” and “Come Join Me In Life“. The album can be pre-ordered here.
The band, alongside other musicians, joined this year’s initiative #SaveOurVenues to help to raise awareness of venues that because of the pandemic are at the risk of closure. Jones commented about the campaign: “Without these independent venues, there is nowhere for artists to learn their craft. It’s hard enough to find new headline acts for festivals every year, and if we lose these venues, it will make things nigh on impossible. I would hope that as long as there are kids with dreams there will always be independent venues“.
Trampolene will play few shows this year.
