Bullet For My Valentine the Welsh metal heavyweights have announced their upcoming self-titled seventh album which they have promised is going to be a complete monster of a record. The band’s guitarist Micheal ‘Padge’ Padget told Kerrang, “I think it’s the most ferocious side of Bullet For My Valentine that I’ve ever known, It’s time for us to put out a really angry, heavy, aggressive record. I just can’t wait to grimace on stage!” Lead singer Matt Tuck expanded on this by saying “This is the beginning of Bullet 2.0. It signifies where we are right now. The music is fresh, it’s aggressive, it’s more visceral and passionate than it’s ever been.”
The group recently released their lead single ‘Knives’ an aggressive hard-hitting tune that is set to feature as the second track on their upcoming album. Just yesterday, on June 20th they also debuted their track live at the first post lockdown festival the Download Pilot Festival much to the delight of the 10,000 attendants. They have been working on the album for at least two years and it is due out on October 22nd via Spinefarm/Search & Destroy. If their latest single is anything to go by it seems as if the band may well deliver on their promise of anger and aggression as well as a rejuvenation of their sound.
The band had also recently teased the release on a post shared to Twitter where they said they had been ‘hard at work’ on music that’s ‘guaranteed to blow your mind.’ As it has been almost three years since the band released their last album Gravity I’m sure many fans will be very excited by this announcement. Although it doesn’t end there as they are also set for a UK tour to coincide with the release of their upcoming album with tickets going on general sale from 10 am on June 25.
