Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has revealed his ambition to perform with his band on the Moon. Martin is willing to head towards the final frontier after the intergalactic Coldplay video for the recently-released single “Higher Power”. However, he also realised that the vacuum of space with no sound might be an obstacle to overcome, but he is ready to bring Coldplay where no band has gone before.
He told ‘The Zach Sang Show’: “Not many people have done it, that’s true. But isn’t there an issue that if you play on the moon no one can actually hear? I am confused about the atmosphere. We would try anything twice. I don’t mind any ridicule as I just speak what feels true to me. That is what we all have to do.”
In the band’s recently released video for “Higher Power”, the singer is exploring a new and extraordinary new planet. Indeed, this new planet Martin finds himself in appears to be called Kaotica. The language spoken by the aliens occupying this planet seems to be featured throughout the video, the song, and the “Higher Power” artwork. Throughout the video, Martin encounters holograms and aliens which are performed by the Seoul’s Ambiguous Dance Company. The clip was directed by Dave Meyers, who also collaborated with international artists such as Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish.
Released on the 7th of May of this year, “Higher Power” already has collected over 75 million streams across the globe. Some entertainment reports also claimed that Coldplay had been working on new music during the Coronavirus lockdown. “Chris and co. have been dropping hints for a while but now it’s finally getting off the ground,” the source said. “They’ve been busy working on new music during lockdown and it’ll all culminate in the record, which has the working title Music Of The Spheres.” Nothing is confirmed so far, but you can watch the video clip for “Higher Power” below.
