The Hundred, a brand new 100-ball cricket tournament, is partnering with BBC Music to have live concerts at each of their 68 games. There are eight city-based men’s and women’s teams: Birmingham Phoenix, London Spirit, Manchester Originals, Northern Superchargers, Oval Invincibles, Southern Brave, Trent Rockets, and Welsh Fire. Each team will have their own hosts, as well as their own DJ to represent them, as provided by BBC Music Introducing, a program launched in 2007 that supports unsigned and undiscovered musicians across the UK.

The regional based BBC Music Introducing platforms will also provide six live artists that will perform at their respective local venues throughout the competition. The six artists will be The Orielles, Jerub, Lady Sanity, Oscar Welsh, Coach Party and Rachel K Collier. This gives the up-and-coming artists opportunities to perform on a large scale, as some of the games are already sold out. It also gives fans the chance to attend to one of the first festival style events to happen in 2021. The Hundred managing director Sanjay Patel said, “We are curating a real festival line-up to deliver a ground-breaking music programme that is integrated into a world-class sporting event, unlike anything that has been delivered before.”
The festival-style competition, which is sure to be an historical event, takes place from 21 July to 21 August. If you can’t check out any of the events in person, the performances and the games will be broadcasted via BBC and Sky thanks to a broadcast partnership with the two companies. You can find the list of performers and their teams/locations below, and purchase tickets here.
