Texas alt-rockers Blue October have released a lyric video for their new song ‘Bleed Out’, the lead track from their upcoming seventh album, ‘Sway’. The video is available on the bands Facebook page, and can be downloaded by sharing the page link.
The video, consisting of the song lyrics over the album cover – an image of a stark white rose over a black background – follows the songs digital release at the end of June.
‘Sway’, due for release on the 20th August, was entirely funded by a PledgeMusic campaign, the online fan-funding service which has previously been used by artists such as The Lumineers, Charlie Simpson and Flotsam and Jetsam. The Houston quintet raised funds for by auctioning off favours such as lifetime concert passes, signed guitars and music lessons, with 5% of the proceeds going towards the MusicCares Foundation, which supports struggling musicians.
‘Sway’ is Blue October’s second release –after their 2011 album ‘Any Man In America’ – from Up/Down Records, the independent label formed by lead singer and guitarist Justin Furstenfeld after the band broke from Universal Records over a contract dispute.
