Coldplay have released the music video for the second single from their latest album A Head Full of Dreams. The video, shot in the streets of Mumbai, features the unprecedented collaboration between Coldplay and global superstar Beyoncé. Beyoncé also provides vocals for the track, entitled Hymn For The Weekend.

The premiere of the video was met with controversy and heated debate questioning whether Beyoncé’s role of a Bollywood actress in traditional Desi attire constitutes as cultural appropriation – with the mixed reception from the public and the media helping to generate over 6 million views for the video in its first day of release. Coldplay are due to perform at the highly anticipated 2016 Superbowl half time show, thought to be the most watched television event of the year, on Sunday 7th February.
