Printworks London announced they have big plans for their opening weekend this September.
The opening weekend event, Printworks Redacted, will take place across three days: Late Night Movement 17th September 2021, To The Floor 18th September 2021, Low End Theories 19th September 2021. Printworks have gained excitement for their opening event as they released cryptic details.
Taking to social media, the London event space wrote: “Printworks Redacted: three shows, three genres and three experiences marks Printworks’ reopening after a year of unprecedented change.” Also, writing that the artists playing will not be revealed until the night of the shows, boasting an element of mystery. They added that they would be implementing a “no phones on the dancefloor” policy at each show.
Printworks’ mystery line up has electronic music fans excited for the rave scene to be opening back up, with many comments on the announcement guessing and hoping for who these mystery acts may be.
Over the years, Printworks have hosted a variety of big names in the dance genre. From Green Velvet to Disclosure, their passion for the audio-visual experience makes for an exciting dance space. However, many events in 2020 were cancelled or postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, meaning Printworks had to close their doors without knowing when/ if they would be able to reopen them.
After initially being denied a grant from the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund, Broadwick Live’s future, the owners of Printworks, was at stake. However, the decision was overturned, and the portfolio of venues was saved. Breaking the news last December, Printworks said: “Whilst this is a valuable lifeline to our business, we recognise this hasn’t been the case for many others. Therefore, we stand shoulder to shoulder with our industry as a whole and recognise that further support is needed to ensure the longevity of our world-leading Arts & Culture industry here in the UK.”
Following the reopening event “Printworks Redacted,” Printworks London has a busy line up for late 2021. Including: Rescheduled – Green Velvet (Sold Out), Sonny Fodera (sold out), Sub Focus (Sold Out).
The Printworks venue, situated in South East London, has been hailed by many for its vast industrial space, described by Resident Advisor as: “Glorius dance floor moments will come often in a space as spectacular as Printworks – they deserve to be experienced equally by everyone.” Featuring smaller, more intimate rooms and one vast main stage space. Printworks also boasts a large outdoor area and bar.
