Singer Jessie Ware has released a new video for ‘Remember Where You Are’, featuring her lookalike actress Gemma Arterton walking around London alone at night. The video was filmed on 14th February and directed by BAFTA-winning Dominic Savage. It is the last track of her fourth album ‘What’s Your Pleasure’ released in June 2020.
‘Remember Where You Are’ have been a fan favourite from Ware’s album and it became more popular when former US President Obama added it to his ‘Favourite songs of 2020‘ playlist, which contains just 29 songs. The singer has been inspired to make a music video described as a ‘love letter to lockdown London’ and team up with award-winning actress Gemma Arterton, whose similarities in looks have been noted by fans over many years.

The video features Arterton wandering around the peaceful streets of London including Regent Street and Carnaby Street, before heading out to Primrose Hill to watch the sunrise. The video was shot and directed in a single night on Valentine’s day by Dominic Savage. Talking about the particularly empty streets in London, Ware said: “We shot the video on Valentine’s Day, which is the night when usually people go out for dinner and people are everywhere. It was kind of poignant, yet so beautiful, and hopefully it’s a bit of a love letter to our city.”
Even though the song was not specifically written about the pandemic, Ware has said that she felt it was fitting during these hopeful times: “It serendipitously felt like an anthem of hope in the middle of the third lockdown. It felt right, and to have it coming out this week, as we’re getting the news that we can kind of gradually come out of lockdown, I just thought, ‘Oh, this is the right feeling for this video.'”
Jessie Ware is due to tour the UK for her album ‘What’s Your Pleasure’ in December. The original dates for the tour began in April, however it was postponed due to the pandemic. Tickets can be bought on her website.
