Singers Ella Henderson and Tom Grennan have teamed up to drop new single ‘Let’s Go Home Together’ on 19th February. The track is the highest new entry of the week and has already debuted at number 2 in The Official Big Top 40 chart for 21st February. The pair performed ‘Let’s Go Home Together’ on The Graham Norton Show the same day it was released.
Ella Henderson said that the song reminisces the days before the Covid-19 pandemic, saying: “I guess we could have called the song Let’s Stay Home Together, and flipped it around. But we wanted to create something nostalgic and give people hope. Everyone can relate to being in a pub and someone walks in and you lay eyes on them and that’s it. Right now everyone is having to do it on Tinder.”
The two artists took it to their social media accounts to celebrate the success of their new single. Ella expressed her excitement on Instagram, saying: “We are so so proud of this record & everyone involved in the creation of it!!! Thank you to everyone who has supported us!!”
‘Let’s Go Home Together’ was written by Ella Henderson with James Arthur, who were both contestants in The X Factor in 2012, coming 6th and 1st place respectively. Ella had been performing it live as far as back as 2017 and James was originally supposed to sing on the track. However, she has decided to collaborate with an old friend Tom Grennan instead.
This is Ella’s first release this year, who released a series of standalone singles and collaborations such as ‘Take Care of You’ since her last debut album ‘Chapter One’ in 2014. Tom is due to release his second album ‘Evering Road’ 5th March and set to perform at Alexandra Palace in London on 30th September, tickets can be bought here.
